Animations and Cinemagraphs

When it comes to adding some type of movement and interest to the desing an e-commerce site, the easiest way to do that is through animation and cinemagraphs. Animations and GIFs are the perfect visual content for you to add in order to capture the customer’s interest especially if the site includes a lot of static pages. Cinemapraph’s are still pictures to which a small animated effect is added and the whole thing gives off a mini video vibe which can be very pleasing to the eye of the customer.

Long scrolls and lazy loading are the way to go

We all know the feeling of scrolling through a site and having to keep skipping to the next page in order to see more products which apart from being really annoying part of the ecommerce website deisng, can also be time consuming since you have to wait for the page to load. To give customers a better experience more and more e-commerce owners are making the decision to long scroll pages where all the objects are added on one page. This makes the loading time shorter and the overall experience better.

Hamburgers are going on the left side

Although this is a web design feature that has been around for a while, ecommerce shop owners are now putting it on the left, instead of on the right side of the page. People are deciding to do this because they want to ensure that the hamburger menu is the first thing that catches the customer’s eye, and a great sign that this really is a growing trend, is that even sites like Google are implementing it, which means this trend is approved by them, and that is always a good thing.

Trends come and go, and you may not like some of them, but in the websites world of ecommerce it is really important to keep up with them since the customer will always go to the website whose design will capture them the most.
